We are proud of our diverse staff. Columbia College Child Care and Early Education Centre is an accredited, non-profit child care centre that is open to the public that is close to downtown! Columbia College Child Care Centre provides superior child care and early learning in a nurturing, inclusive, and multi-cultural environment. We exist to support children in their social/emotional, physical, and cognitive development, and strive to inspire children to become lifelong learners.
Columbia College Child Care Centre is a child-centered community of learners where children, families, educators and staff work in concert with one another. This partnership creates a trusting, nurturing and reciprocally supportive environment where joy, play and learning are celebrated.
The Columbia College Child Care Centre is open not only to children of the staff and students of Columbia College but the general public as well.

Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 6:00 pm
Monday – Thursday 6:15 pm – 9:00 pm
Infant Program (12 to 19 months)
The infant program serves children from 12 to 19 months. The program is designed to promote feelings of belonging and loving care.
Our program is designed to meet the individual needs of each child and to provide age appropriate educational experiences. In our infant rooms, we provide a creative and stimulating program which encourages visual, language, gross motor and small motor experiences to enhance learning through these youngest learner’s natural curiosities.care which helps infants grow and develop into healthy children.
Infants eat, sleep, and play according to their own schedule. Every infant is an individual with unique abilities, desires and emotions.
Our highly qualified and professional staff will guide and encourage your infant in every stage of his or her development. Open and thorough communication between staff and each family is very important in order to provide quality care for each infant and maintain confidence from each parent.
Toddler Program (19 months to 36 months)
Our toddler program serves children from 19 months to 36 months. Toddler rooms are designed to provide stimulating experiences for the children where they can learn through their own inquisitiveness. The emphasis during the toddler years is on building self-confidence and fostering the natural curiosity that toddlers possess.
Throughout the day, toddlers will enjoy a large variety of play materials readily available to them, as well as creative centers where children can dress-up, build with blocks, and experiment with the activities at the sensory table. Art, music, language and science activities geared to little hands are also introduced.
Our staff will offer the care, warmth, and patience so essential to this young age, and as a result, children feel comfortable in our care. Deep respect for each child ensures that your toddler will truly develop a long lasting love for learning.
Preschool Age Program
Our Preschool Age Children’s program serves children from 3 to 5 years old and strives to prepare children socially and academically, as well as supports and encourages the development of independence, responsibility, and confidence – all of which are essential for a child’s future success in kindergarten and school. Our program focuses on the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of children by offering concrete, hands-on activities for the child to explore.
Our preschool age children’s room arrangement creates the optimum learning environment. It allows children easy access to educational toys, materials, and books, enabling them to initiate and expand their activities. Each classroom is organized with areas for block play, manipulative toys, art creativity, dramatic play, reading, and larger spaces for group activities.
